Loops of Yarn is a new store in Sumter that offers many varieties of yarn, needles and other supplies along with classes for knitting and crocheting.

Anytime our store is open you are welcome to sit and loop! Come plop on our chairs and fellowship and loop with other crocheters and knitters. Yes, there are more of us out there! Group Photo

Your group can meet in our store. We'd love to schedule your group. The Blessing Weavers of St. Mark's United Methodist Church meets on Thursdays at noon. This group's ministry is making prayer shawls, wraps, baby blankets and throws. These items are prayed over for the specific person and delivered. It is a rewarding ministry for the maker and recipient. Start your own group and let us schedule your group at our store!

If you would like to join a teen club, let us know.  We have a few young ladies that would like to schedule time to meet each week.  Join the Teen Club.

Come Loop, Laugh and Learn with us!

Free knit and crochet beginner’s classes:
We offer free beginners crochet and beginners knit classes. We’ve scheduled several of these classes this month. The instruction is free. You will need the appropriate needles and a ball of yarn. If you can’t make any of these classes, we suggest you make an appointment for a One-on-One class.

The One-on-One class consists of you and a teacher. The class is scheduled with a teacher and only by appointment. The cost is $15 per hour.

Open Night for crocheters and knitters every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Our Tuesday Open Night group has been challenged

by Meg to make 100 crocheted or knitted hats for the homeless in Sumter. These hats will accompany bagged meals in the fall. Are you up for this challenge? Join us and crochet or knit hats (mostly for adult men) of all sizes. Pray for the person that will receive your hat while you are looping it. Bring completed hats to the store and we will give them to Holy Comforter.

First meeting for the Young Loopers club (our young knitters and crocheters)

will be, Monday, August 25, 3:30 to 5 p.m. Bring your needles and yarn. Join us for this after-school meeting! We will discuss other meeting info and some ideas for projects.

We thank you for all the yarn you donated to the girls at the Freewill Baptist Children’s Home in Turbeville. They attended our July knit camp and they all became busy loopers! If you have any yarn you’d like to donate them, drop it in our basket in the store.

A group of ladies will take scrap yarn for blankets for the VA. Drop these in our basket in the store.
